University of Trento
The University of Trento (Università degli Studi di Trento) is a top-ranked Italian university located in Trento and Rovereto. It is recognized for its excellence in teaching, research, and internationalization by CENSIS and the Italian Ministry of Education.
History
Founded in 1962 as a Higher University Institute for Social Sciences, Trento became Italy’s first Faculty of Sociology. Over the years, it expanded with new faculties in Science (1972), Economics (1973), Humanities and Law (1984), Engineering (1985), and Cognitive Sciences (2004). In 2017, the C3A (Centre for Agriculture, Food, and Environment) was established in collaboration with the Edmund Mach Foundation.
